1. In my own words, curriculum may be defined as the knowledge taught during lessons, in school, which consists of the entire situation that the school may select and consistently organize for the purpose of bringing about changes in the behaviour of students as a means of developing the personality of the individuals.
Two things about curriculum are:-
a). it is not a syllabus and
b). In the same vein, it is not static.
2. In my own mind, people trained in Electrical Technology, which is my discipline, they should be capable of doing the following:
They will be expected to perform a variety of complex technical function relating to design, planning and construction.
They will be capable of maintaining electrical systems
They will be capable of studying and interpreting project requirements.
They will be expected to perform a variety of Administrative and project management support functions.
They will be capable of preparing and compiling budgets.
They will be capable of preparing economic analysis.
They will be capable of preparing details of engineering drawing specifications and other related documentations.
They will be capable of supervising installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and appliances.
3. The ten experiences that the individual trained should be exposed to in electrical technology are:-
i. An electrical technologist should be able to do the analysis, failure of electrical equipment by using ammeter, voltmeter and ohmmeter.
ii. He should be able to identify faults in an electric motor and repair it.
iii. He should be able to design electrical equipment and appliances.
iv. An electrical technologist should be able to pull wire through conduit by means of fish tape.
v. An electrical technologist should be able to demonstrate series and parallel connections practically.
vi. He should be able to use appropriate tools for appropriate jobs for excellent work.
vii. He should be able to produce T-joint and married joint with cables.
viii. He should be exposed to modern communication trend in order for him to effectively communicate with members of multi-disciplinary teams from a variety backgrounds
ix. He should be exposed to use modern computational tools for technical problem solving

4. The challenges affecting curriculum planning in Vocational and Technology Education are:
a. Inadequate emphasis on pre-vocational subjects at the primary and Junior Secondary School levels.
b. Inadequate facilities.
c. Shortfall in recruitment and exodus of technical instructors
d. Poor funding
e. Low student morale
f. Administrators’ misconception of the nature of vocational and technical education.
g. Deficient educational monitoring and evaluation procedures.
